The older I get, I feel like I’m always tryna save time
Talkin’ to the voices in my head, they make me think twice
Tellin’ me it doesn’t mean it’s wrong because it feels right…
I don’t make friends very easily. Between things that I have no control over and things I simply haven’t put in the effort to control, I either just can’t seem to relate to other P/people enough to make friends, or once I make them I will find some way to sabotage the friendship. It usually goes one of a few ways, and this year I resolved that I was going to actively work on it.
However, one of the ways in which it usually goes is that I will abandon all potential at friendship with those who hurt the very few people that I call ‘friend’. Whether my ‘friend’ is the one that’s in the wrong or not doesn’t matter to me in that moment… I cut off the other people involved without a second thought.
Until now.
This time, for whatever reason, I’ve allowed myself to think twice about it… and I’ve decided I’m not ok with cutting people off who did nothing wrong to me, or to my friend for that matter. Paranoia is a bitch… being untreated is a bitch… I know; I’ve been there. However at some point this friend is going to have to take personal responsibility for the friendships they ruin due to no fault of the other person.
I’m smiling in this picture, because, for once, I’m truly happy with most things in my life – RL and SL.
It’s my turn to have friends. And I don’t feel like giving them up when they’ve done nothing wrong. I’ve done enough of that.
