Clearly, i’m the one T/they’re afraid of…
4 days into NaNoWriMo and i’m already behind… i didn’t intend to blog the progress, so don’t get all weird about seeing writing from me all throughout November… lol… but i DID intend to spend November writing.
Though i don’t write novels. i did mean to focus a bit on some poetry, though.
i guess i’m just always left to feel that the stuff i write is inferior to T/those that i’m around. i mentioned it in one of the poems i wrote back in September that i shared here at some point, i think… about how i don’t write like them. i write very much how i talk… i’ve always done that in everything. Here in this blog, in roleplay, even in papers when i was in school – my language has always been very informal.
i suppose my motivation behind such is that if i have to take a break from something i’m reading of Y/yours to google the definition of an unfamiliar word, then it breaks my immersion. Sure, it might sound cool as a word – and YOU might know what it means, so it might make sense to Y/you… but if your audience doesn’t get it, it loses its effectiveness, in my opinion.
But i suppose i am in a minority in this, because i find myself googling more often when i read poetry/listen to spoken word than i do appreciating the piece as it was written.
So i find that i write very informally… but then i find myself feeling inferior.
Then again – i feel inferior in most things in my life. That’s a personal thing and not a writing thing, really.
