This is coming out on a Thursday, and I’m writing it the Friday before… so keep that in mind. Lol. By the time you read this, I will have already gone to my friend’s class. But tonight, I am prepping to try and go to my friend’s dance class she’s teaching… in Gor. And I haven’t been to Gor in, like, 10 months?
So of course, where do I go for Gor things but On A Lark! I’m in love with this dress. Granted, probably not something Master would approve of a slave wearing in Gor… too covered… buuuuut I think it’s pretty, so I decided to take pictures!
Ok! Anyway. Back to 20 Rules To Live By.
Rule #2: In times of tragedy and turmoil, you’ll learn who your true friends are. Treasure them, because they are few and far between.
I have learned this rule in practice twice in my life. Once more recently, which I’ve covered enough over the past few entries in this blog, and the other time was when my father died.
The closer we come up to August 1st, the more I start to think about it. This year, it will be 4 years since my dad died. And in that moment, when I was out of my god-damned mind for months… I learned who were my friends, and who were only fair-weather friends.
There comes a time when you know who will stand by you and who only wants to be there when things are good.
I purged a lot of people from my life in that time, and I continue to try and treasure those who stuck around and stuck through it. I was a nightmare to deal with, and every year around this time, I become a mini-nightmare again. So people are strong people to stick through all that with me.
They are, indeed, few and far between.
