Gods, the last two weeks have been exhausting!
Those of you who don’t know… I started a new job in RL, working in a Cardiologists’ office as a Medical Assistant. And no… the apostrophe was not placed incorrectly there… there is more than one Cardiologist in this office.
As a matter of fact… there are TEN.
Cardiology has a lot of different specialties… so it’s not just 10 providers seeing the same kinds of patients. No, that would be boring. Lol. We’ve got a couple Thoracic Surgeons, a couple of Electrophysiologists (the ones I’ll be working with primarily for chart prep), some Interventionalists, some non-Interventionalists, etc. It’s definitely an interesting mixture of providers. A total of 17 exam rooms that are split up amongst whichever providers are there at the time… 9 Nurses… and now 8 Medical Assistants. Not to mention the Front Office staff, the Device Techs, the Sonographer, the other Techs, the Billing people and Coders… Scheduling… Authorization specialists… it’s a huge staff.
Definitely a big change from the little 2-provider Family Practice office I did the last half of my externship in.
Oh, and if I didn’t mention it before, this office is a part of the hospital. So in addition to our large office staff, there are 65,000 (yes, a number I just pulled out of my ass) other people nearby at any given time.
So, please forgive me. I’m just exhausted all the time. Lol.

I really was going to try to get pictures in a sim OTHER than Salt Water this time… lol. I went back to the newly-remodeled Elysion, but of course, because my luck is the way it is, I showed up and started trying to rez right when the Earth Day formal started… so there were far too many people around, and I couldn’t figure out how to get Black Dragon to let me derender everyone… so Salt Water it was!
Thanks for sticking with me, and dealing with my cranky exhaustion, for those of you that have spoken to me in the last couple of weeks. It’s getting there. I think once I stop being sore all the time after work, like when my body gets used to the work tasks and gives in to the fact that it’s what I’m going to be doing 8 1/2 hours a day, 5 days a week… then it’ll get better. For now, my body hates me. Lol.
