In other news, Christina Grimmie passed away. Well… no… ‘passed away’ sounds so gentle. Christina Grimmie was shot. Like… what possesses a person to shoot another human being is beyond me, let alone someone with such a beautiful heart like Christina. Signing autographs outside after her concert and just… that was it. There is a special place in hell for the asshole that decided that was a positive life choice.

So as I was perusing her Youtube channel to look for a good song of hers to use for this blog, I came across this one… that I hadn’t heard before. The Lyric video was released in February of this year, so I would call it ‘fairly recent’, even if it’s a little less than 4 months old. And, as much as I hate to admit it, because the song is quite sad, it resonated with me.

“Now I’m sitting here wondering why… you didn’t ever care for me.”

Sometimes I wonder… well, I wonder a lot of things… but sometimes I wonder, just how real people are here. How much of them is genuine, and how much of it is bullshit. And unfortunately, by the time you figure it out, it’s too late. You’ve either fallen hard to find out they’re not who they say they are, or you’ve written them off only to find out they were a good person. I used to be such a good judge of character… but I let those in who just hurt me, and I don’t let those in who wouldn’t dream of it.

Seems it’s time for the walls to come back up.
